All children, birth to 5th grade, have a place in Children’s Ministry at Lakewood Way. We believe children are a precious gift from God, and are blessed with each child entrusted to our care. We support families by offering learning opportunities to develop a personal relationship with Christ in a positive, joyful, and nurturing atmosphere. It’s our desire to see our children connect to God, their families, and the community.

Children’s Worship Opportunities:

Nursery: Nursery care is provided for infants up to age 2 during the Sunday morning worship service.

Children’s Church: Following the music portion of our worship service, children ages 2 through 5th grade are welcomed and encouraged to join us for Children’s Church. They will enjoy a relevant Bible lesson geared just for them, games, crafts, and so much more!

Family Sunday: Our curriculum is designed in such a way that every 7th Sunday is designated as Family Sunday. Our nursery is still available but there is no Children’s Church on this day. This gives our families an opportunity to enjoy the worship service together and allows our congregation to be blessed with an inter-generational experience. Activity bags are available for the children at the beginning of service on Family Sundays.

Are my children loved and safe?

We have a great group of coordinators, teachers, and helpers who enjoy serving our children. Our desire is to create an environment where your children will learn about Jesus, have fun, and be protected. We make sure that our Lakewood Way Kids Team consists of loving, caring people who are committed to sharing with our children the love of God and the truths of Scripture. We engage the children with regular classes and special events like Vacation Bible School, dramas, crafts, game nights, service projects and more. All of our teachers are required to be Christians who have passed a background check and have participated in Child Abuse Prevention Training. We do have a Child Protection Policy in place called Safe Sanctuary to ensure the safety of the children and peace of mind for parents and care-givers.
